Tiny Lou’s x  Shuman Farms Vidalia Onion Collaboration

This past June, Atlanta-based restaurant, Tiny Lou’s, had the unique opportunity to partner with industry-leading, family-led, year-round grower, and shipper of sweet onions for over two generations, Shuman Farms.  To kick off Vidalia onion season, Shuman Farms asked our very own Executive Chef Jon Novak to create a minimum of two special dishes featuring the Shuman Farms’ Vidalia onions.

Vidalia Onion Challenge with a Twist

For foodies everywhere, the change of season signals a whole new offering of fresh produce available to use and enjoy in dishes for months to come. Tasked with creating two recipes featuring Shuman Farms Vidalia onions, Chef Novak got to work! Along with this challenge, Shuman Farms offered their “Buy A Meal, Give A Meal” program, allowing us to donate one meal per purchased dish to a local food bank of our choice in Georgia.

With creative control and the opportunity to support a worthy cause- how could we turn this down?

The Featured Recipes

In this year's featured recipes, Chef Jon focused on the versatility of the Shuman Vidalia onion, using it in two different ways. Save this link and try them at home!

Featured Food Bank

These recipes were on our menu for the entire month of June and allowed us to give back to our selected food bank every time it was ordered from the menu. Tiny Lou’s selected Atlanta Community Food Bank, and in total we sold 165 dishes with the support of our customers.  This translated to $3,300 donated for a great cause!

This partnership was a great success and we are thankful for the opportunity to take our dishes beyond our restaurant. If you find yourself in the kitchen whipping up Chef Jon's recipe, tag us online! We’d love to see your at-home culinary adventures.

Tiny Lou’s is a swinging French-American brasserie located downstairs at Hotel Clermont. Presenting a palate-pleasing approach to French favorites, Tiny Lou's uses seasonal and local provisions that are complemented by a French-focused wine list.
