Chancellor’s House: a hotel that locals call their own

In an industry that thrives on making great first impressions, Chancellor’s House did just that. The city of Oxford captivated us with their small-town charm, rich cultural history, and of course, Mississippi’s flagship university: Ole Miss.

Situated on a corner lot with a distinct build and high-quality materials, we knew this property could become a hotel that locals would soon call their own. Our experience in a similar-sized market in Knoxville, TN at our flagship property, The Oliver Hotel, and founded on the idea that old and new properties alike could be reworked into engaging and thoughtful spaces, made us feel confident that Chancellor’s House would be the perfect addition to the Oliver brand.

Chancellor’s House features a country-club aesthetic that blends tradition and history through the masonry work, juliet balconies, and luxury meets casual design. But that’s just the beginning.

Plans include major layout changes in 2023 that incorporate a cocktail bar off the main lobby, a patio overlooking the square that captures the energy of this football town, and a completely reimagined rooftop bar with vintage touches paired with a coastal-gulf design.

Creating a personality-filled space that lacks pretension and delivers an elevated experience for locals and visitors alike, is the signature “Oliver” touch that guests have come to expect and love throughout our hotels and restaurants.

Whether you’re in town for a game or you’re a lifelong Oxford native, Chancellor’s House will be another extension of the Oliver commitment: great service, great food, great drinks, and the best team in the business.
